For four seasons, we've seen Arturo Vidal fly around the field like no other, drop opponents with his crunching tackles, run hundreds of miles and throw up a heart above his chest whenever one of his goals hits the back of the net. There were trophies — a lot of trophies, and a lot of reasons to celebrate.

But after four years together, the Chilean midfielder with Scudetto tattoos on his arms and other Juventus-related tats will no longer be playing for them. That's because Vidal is heading back to the Bundesliga, as Juventus and Bayern Munich officially announced their much-talked about transfer following Vidal passing his medical examinations.

From juventus.com:

Juventus Football Club can confirm that Arturo Vidal has completed a move to Bayern Munich for a fee of €37 million to be paid in two financial years.

The transfer value could increase by up to a maximum of €3 million provided the player achieves certain targets stipulated in the agreement.

After four explosive and unforgettably successful years in the black and white of Juventus, Vidal's time in Turin has today come to an end.

The Santiago-born enforcer will be remembered not only for his immense success on the field, but also for a combative and all-action style which saw him combine to perfection with Claudio Marchisio, Andrea Pirlo and Paul Pogba to form one of the most formidable midfields in Europe.

After days full of rumors and just about every sign possible pointing toward Vidal heading toward the German champions, Juventus director general Beppe Marotta confirmed at his first press conference of the 2015-16 season that Vidal had in fact asked to embark on a new adventure. He has now become the latest player to leave the Champions League finalists this summer. And just like Andrea Pirlo, Carlos Tévez and Angelo Ogbonna before him, they had requested a change of scenery before or during the current transfer window, according to Marotta.

Of course, selling midfielders of Vidal's quality at the age of 28 doesn't happen everyday, not did it seem like a concrete possibility a few weeks ago. There would always be rumors because that's just the nature of the beast, but Marotta always stood firm to his stance of "The player will stay unless he expresses the desire to leave," which has applied to both Vidal and Paul Pogba — amongst others — the last few summers. Throw in Vidal's comments about wanting to make it back to the Champions League final and potentially retire in a Juventus shirt and a move away from Turin seemed as unlikely as it was amidst all of those Manchester United rumors 12 months ago.

That obviously won't be happening now.

Vidal's fourth and final season in Turin wasn't as good as the first three. I don't think there's any denying that. He battled lingering knee problems from the campaign prior and Chile's long run in the 2014 World Cup and, as a result, poor form for pretty much the entire half of the season. But one season doesn't override what was a four-year run of domestic dominance and Vidal taking the step up to elite status in Europe.

Thanks for so many good times, Arturo. And may you be conveniently suspended if Juventus and Bayern Munch are to meet at some point in the Champions League next season or the years after. The last thing we need is for you to remind what we no longer have. That wouldn't sit well with us.

We knew this day would come — and in short order, too. Everything had been reported, everything had been put into place outside of an official announcement from either Juventus or Bayern Munich regarding Arturo Vidal's move to the German champions.

Well, that official announcement — at least the one where a deal is confirmed sans all those fancy financial terms — has now arrived. They might as well be drafting up that press release now. We'll be reading it soon enough. From Bayern Munich's official website:

FC Bayern are poised to complete the signing of Arturo Vidal, Karl-Heinz Rummenigge told a press conference at the team hotel in Guangzhou on Thursday. "I can basically confirm we have agreed terms with both parties, Juventus Turin and the player. All that's missing is the medical and signature on the contract." If everything runs normally, the Bayern chairman continued, "he's start training with us next week."

At this point, this was pretty much all we needed to hear to figure that Vidal was on his way to Germany. I mean, this is the same Rummenigge who was essentially beaming with confidence as he strolled through the airport about a deal for Vidal getting done in the very near future. We've known Vidal was on his way out, and we know Juventus are already looking for ways to spend the money they're about to get from Bayern Munich even though it isn't actually here yet.

(cough cough Julian Draxler cough cough)

Combine everything above with Beppe Marotta confirming at his first press conference of the preseason that Vidal asked to leave Juventus and it was only a matter of time before we heard that some kind of deal was reached between Juventus and Bayern Munich.

Maybe this is a good thing seeing as it has happened in quick fashion rather than it being long and drawn out transfer saga like we've seen other deals go through in years past. Even last summer with Vidal's "Will he stay or will he go?" dance with Manchester United it was essentially hovering around our heads from the beginning of the transfer window to the beginning of the Serie A season. Yeah, good times, good times.

Now we just wait for the formal announcement. You know, the one that involves fancy numbers and transfer fees. Knowing how quickly this deal has gone from absolutely nothing to definitely something, it won't be too long now.

As the Max Allegri-Beppe Marotta double press conference began on Monday afternoon at Vinovo, you knew the question was going to be asked based on everything that happened over the last few days. It was just a matter of how early the question would be raised by one of the Italian journalists was in attendance and what was going to be said by Marotta.

So, we got the question asked of Marotta about Arturo Vidal's future with Juventus. Here's the answer...

Marotta: "@kingarturo23 has expressed his desire to embark on a different experience, as did Ogbonna, Tevez and Pirlo."

That's about as confirmed as confirmed gets, folks. No more need to wonder if the rumors coming out of both Italy and Germany were a bunch of nonsense. They're true — and so are the words Marotta has just spoken. After four fantastic seasons with Juventus, Vidal won't be in black and white stripes anymore. (Sorry if you got that Vidal No. 23 adidas kit, by the way.) It's disappointing to see happen, but pretty understandable considering Marotta has been in the camp of "We won't sell unless the player says they want to go elsewhere" for pretty much his entire time running the transfer show.

And Vidal expressed a desire to leave despite the fact he has Scudetto tattoos up and down one arm, 'King Arturo' on the other and three stars on his neck. Apparently the head speaks louder than the ink on your body, I guess.

So, you combine this with the fact that yet another story — this time from The Guardian on Monday — said that Vidal's move to Bayern Munich was going down in the very near future and the dots can officially be connected. Vidal is leaving Juventus, and in short order. He'll be arriving in Munich soon for his medical, posing for a picture as he's on a treadmill while wearing one of those famed fishnet shirts and then telling everybody about how he wanted to go to Bayern.

It's happening. Bayern Munich will be getting Vidal four years after Juventus snatched him away from them and subsequently got back to being the dominant Juventus of old. And, as the 2015-16 season quickly approaches, Juve will have more cash to play with now. I guess that's the one benefit in all this.

The wheels have been in motion for a few days now, and each and every road sign along the way is pointing toward Arturo Vidal signing with Bayern Munich and making a return to the Bundesliga. Just about everybody with any kind of credibility is reporting it, and it seems as though some kind of random occurrence will prevent this transfer from happening.

Before his team left on a preseason tour through China, Bayern CEO Karl-Heinz Rummenigge confirmed that negotiations with Juventus for a potential move for the talented Chilean midfielder are happening. Read as you may...

"I won't hide the fact that we're interested in him," he said before leaving for Bayern's preseason tour of China on Thursday evening. "But on the way out here I read that everything is agreed -- that's something I can't confirm.

"Like I said, we are interested but we haven't got as far as details like the transfer fee and the player's contract and so on yet.

"So you certainly still have to be patient but we hope that, at the end of the day, the player will come to us."

Asked later if a transfer was very likely, he told tz.de: "Yes."

(Source: ESPNFC)

The key sentence is the last one where the deal is not only confirmed to be going down but also is essentially guaranteed without a direct guarantee from the man who is at the heart of the swoop for Vidal. Brush up on your German-speaking and translating skills and watch the video of it below.

The interviewer asks Rummenigge if a deal for Vidal was likely. And, without hesitation, he responds with a "Yes!"

That's all you need to know, really.

Sky Sport Italia's Gianluca Di Marzio reported late Thursday that a deal was done between Bayern and Juventus. According to Di Marzio, the Vidal deal would cost €37 million with another €3 million in potential bonuses (basically performance-related items for the player and/or team). Vidal is reportedly going to be in Germany early next week to complete his medical and sign his new contract that is worth s supposed €6.5 million a season.

And once the Vidal deal gets done, we get to hear about what Juventus is going to do with all that money. Isn't that exciting? (Caution: It may not be all that exciting because transfer rumors might drive you crazy in the long run.)

The momentum behind all the talk of Arturo Vidal's reportedly immanent move to Bayern Munich isn't slowing down at all. In fact, Vidal looks even closer to making a return to the Bundesliga as lunchtime hits across Italy and the rest of Europe.

After reportedly agreeing to a four-year contract worth €6.5 million a season with Vidal late Wednesday, Bayern's push for the Chilean midfielder is on the brink of being as much of a done deal as a done deal gets before it's officially announced by both clubs. The fast-paced move is only continuing to gain steam, with multiple Italian media outlets saying the deal is pretty much going to happen in the very near future.

Well, I must say, that escalated rather quickly.

We've gone from Juventus demanding €45 million for Vidal to Juventus demanding €40 million for Vidal, and now Vidal essentially moving to Bayern Munich for €35 million with a few extra million euros in bonuses. That's quite an interesting plot twist — almost as much as Vidal being sold in this sudden and quick fashion that is making quite a few people grumpy right now.

Or maybe Beppe Marotta has been in Germany all freaking week while enjoying a couple pints of his favorite Bavarian brew and making this deal happen. You never know. He is a man of mystery from time to time.

But Vidal's move to Bayern Munich looks as though it's simply official announcement away from being done and closed. We obviously don't know what Juventus will do with the money — the Italian press may think they know, but only Marotta and the rest of the management truly have those answers — but this is quite an interesting time in Turin. Not that it was lacking any kind of excitement and intrigue to begin with, too. Juventus has remade its strikerforce, and is about to see one of the best players on its roster during this four-year run of dominance go to the club it beat to Vidal's signature in 2011.

Oh, what a day Thursday looks like it will be. And all of it coming when Mario Mandzukic is going to meet the press and a decent number of players reporting for preseason training.

Bayern Munich has always had a special affinity for Arturo Vidal since his days at Bayer Leverkusen. And with Bastian Schweinsteiger now hanging out with Louis Van Gaal and Matteo Darmian in Manchester, there's a reason for them to spend on a central midfielder who can try replace such a void.

But ... Arturo Vidal? Juventus' Arturo Vidal? Why the heck did they have to target Arturo Vidal?

According to a wide array of reports from Italy's top sports dailies, Bayern and Juventus are close to an agreement to bring the 28-year-old Chilean midfielder back to the Bundesliga. The price for this sudden and out-of-nowhere transaction is somewhere between €35 or €40 million depending on which Italian media outlet or Twitter account you're following at the time.

Earlier on Wednesday, Juventus were reportedly holding out for €45 million, but it looks as though that extra five spot might be arriving in a different kind of way.

The German club is on the verge of completing the deal for Arturo Vidal, after the initial contacts the deal was reached with Juventus receiving about €40 million including the bonuses. The negotiation was led by Michael Reschke, who had previously brought Vidal to Bayern Leverkusen. After four seasons in Serie A, Vidal is on his way back to the Bundesliga.

(Source: Gianluca Di Marzio)

Obviously, around these parts, we are of the "OFFICIALLY OFFICIAL" club and have life-long memberships. But the thing that worries me is not only the volume of the people reporting it, but also the fact that it has seemingly gone from nothing to something in a couple of hours. This isn't like those Vidal to Manchester United or Arsenal rumors that drug on for weeks on end this summer and last.

If Vidal is truly leaving and Juve suddenly have a big chunk of cash coming their way, the easy thing is to think that some of it will potentially go toward Max Allegri's much-desired No. 10. The rumors of Mario Gotze and Isco are already circling around like buzzards, and it's not like they're going to go away if the Vidal-Bayern deal goes go through like everybody in the Italian media is thinking it will right now.

I guess we just wait now. It isn't true until it's on the Juventus website ... right?

(Whatever we need to tell ourselves.)

Maybe that talk of batting for playing time Sami Khedira mentioned earlier in the day just became a bit easier. And it's not like a healthy Sami Khedira is such a bad thing to have in your starting lineup. But the same can be said for Arturo Vidal. Dammit, Bayern Munich.
