Juventus’ newest Brazilian has landed and officially taken his first steps in Turin.

With a fresh haircut and all, Kaio Jorge’s time as a Juventus player is about to begin.

Jorge, the 19-year-old Brazilian starlet, arrived in Turin Wednesday morning and pretty much did as everybody expected him to do: head to J Medical and hop on a few machines to undergo his medical exams. It is the final step before signing his contract — which is expected to run through 2026 — on his reported €3 million move from Santos to Juventus this summer.

A week or so ago, the fact that Kaio Jorge would be in Turin seven days later and strapped up to the usual medical equipment didn’t seem all that possible. It appeared, from the outside looking in, that he was on his way to either AC Milan or Benfica, with both clubs set to offer more than the small transfer fee Juventus had reportedly put on the table. But with Kaio Jorge’s representation and Juventus suddenly coming to terms on a pre-contract agreement, Santos’ hand was forced and the competition was essentially pushed aside.

It became a matter of Juventus and Santos agreeing to a fee.

And while said fee will reportedly be around the same amount that Milan were willing to offer for the teenage striker, the pre-contract agreement between the player and Juventus is what got the ball rolling on this and is why we’re where we are so quickly thereafter.

We may have to wait a little bit to actually see him in a Juventus jersey, though. Goal Italia’s Romeo Agresti has reported that Kaio Jorge will return to Brazil following his trip to Turin to resolve some bureaucratic issues before then flying back to Italy, potentially as early as this coming week. Upon returning to Turin, he will then observe an “active” quarantine where he will first do individual training and then subsequently join his new teammates.
