Well, the last full week in August was ... interesting.
And, for Juventus, that’s the case for what happened on the field, what went down off the field and pretty much anything in between.
Juventus dropped points for the second straight game to open Max Allegri’s second stint in charge at the club and only have a single point to speak of this season. But that’s only part of what happened over the past few days. As much as the loss to Empoli has taken up the conversation around here as well as the calcio corner of the internet, Cristiano Ronaldo’s departure in the final days of the summer transfer window has dominated even more of the headlines surrounding Allegri’s squad.
So, it’s rather easy this week.
We talked Juventus’ loss to Empoli. Then we went to Ronaldo talk.
Simple, right?
In a little more detail, on this week’s episode of The Old Lady Speaks Podcast, we discuss:
- What the hell happened against Empoli over the weekend?
- Where Max Allegri got it wrong, and what can be done to try and right the ship coming out of the international break.
- Should a 4-2-3-1 be in Juventus’ future?
- Cristiano Ronaldo’s exit, and the manner of how he left Juventus.
- #ThankYouCristiano?
- Quick thoughts on Ronaldo’s tenure at Juventus.
