MEETINGS!!!

Just because Juventus has signed Manuel Locatelli it doesn’t mean that certain members of the club’s front office is suddenly done with meetings.

Not even close, folks.

According to reports out of Italy — including from Sky Sport Italia and Goal Italia correspondent Romeo Agresti — Juventus and Paulo Dybala’s agent Jorge Antun will hold their latest (and potentially greatest) meeting regarding the Argentinian striker’s ongoing contract situation. After reportedly canceling their meeting earlier this week for unknown reasons, Sky Italia says that the meeting will take place in the build-up to Juventus’ home opener against Empoli next Saturday night.

Obviously another meeting means another chance to get closer and closer to an agreement on a new contract for a player who will see his current deal expire next summer. Dybala, by all accounts, is the centerpiece of Max Allegri’s new Juventus project, and the contact negotiations starting back up are a direct result of who is now managing in Turin.

Previous reports about meetings Antun has had with the Juventus front office after he arrived in Italy and observed his mandatory quarantine period suggest that there is optimism to get a deal done and that both sides want something to happen. There is still, of course, the sticking point of just what each side want Dybala’s salary to be, but that’s been a given for so many months now that it seems only natural that there still isn’t some sort of resolution.

Agresti’s previous reporting on the negotiations said that things are “going very well.”
