The Old Lady Speaks Podcast, Episode 56: Is having that many supercars an annoyance?

As Juventus starts up training under Max Allegri, there’s plenty happening off the field involving players who are both currently in Turin or on holiday after the Euros.

The Euros have come to an end. The Copa America is over, too. There is still very much some football things happening in Italy right now, but it doesn’t involve actual games taking place. It’s totally about teams preparing for the official games that will come next month — which, for Juventus, starts on Aug. 22 against Udinese in Udine.

Max Allegri, as of this writing, has nearly a full week of training under his belt with limited numbers as a result of players being on extended holiday following their respective national team commitments. But just because some of Juventus’ biggest aren’t back at Continassa just yet, that doesn’t mean it’s been a slow seven days since the last time we recorded a podcast episode for the masses.

Oh, quite the contrary, my friends.

On this week’s episode of The Old Lady Speaks Podcast, we discuss:

  • Max Allegri is back on the training ground and yelling at the limited number of senior squad players that Juventus currently has.
  • The Cristiano Ronaldo situation as we await either an answer about his future at Juventus or for the Portuguese superstar to show up to training in a matter of days.
  • The Paulo Dybala contract extension situation, which seems to be on the way toward a possible relaunch as his agent is expected in Turin somewhat soon.
  • The Arthur injury news that will see the Brazilian midfielder miss the next three months after undergoing surgery over the weekend.
