For the second time in as many days, a Juventus player is back in the fold for his national team after missing their country’s first game at Euro 2020 last week.
Yesterday it was Matthijs de Ligt. Today it’s another player in their early 20s who is a key piece to Juventus’ future — and that would be Dejan Kulusevski. Yes, the same Kulusevski who, up until a couple of days ago, was still in isolation after testing positive for COVID-19 right as Euro 2020 was about to get underway. But Kulusevski has been cleared, has returned to training and is available for Sweden’s key group fixture against Slovakia, one that begins today’s slate of games.
Today’s schedule:
- Sweden vs. Slovakia
- Croatia vs. Czech Republic
- England vs. Scotland
Kulusevski is the lone Juve player in action today. (That is, unless you want to count Mario Mandzukic probably watching from his couch somewhere, his remote in hand ready to scream at anything close to being frustrating when Croatia plays the Czech Republic.)
So now we get to see if, for one, Kulusevski will play. And, if he does play, if he will be able to carry on the late-season form he showed when he was one of Juve’s better players the final month or so of the season.
Maybe the short absence with COVID will play some sort of role with how much playing time Kulusevski sees today against Slovakia, but there’s only one way to find out.
Sweden vs. Slovakia
