We have another twist in the Juventus world when it comes to happenings at Euro 2020 today. It’s not like the last couple of days where you needed all of one digit to count how many Juve players were taking the field for their national team. Instead, we have multiple Juventus players taking the field in multiple games, with today’s opener the only matchup where there isn’t somebody who donned black and white stripes during the club season taking the field.
But, those other two games ... there’s Juventus representation.
Today’s schedule is:
- Scotland vs. Czech Republic
- Poland vs. Slovakia
- Spain vs. Sweden
You see that last game?
You know, the game where Spain is playing Sweden?
We could have had our first Juventus player vs. Juventus player matchup since the tournament opener this past Friday Italy played Turkey. Buuuuut, as you probably know by now, Dejan Kulusevski, a fellow who was very much playing quite well entering the Euros, tested positive for COVID-19 last week and is now in isolation. That means the Juventus contingent playing today is one fewer, but it’s still very much a notable one. And obviously one that will be looking to help their respective countries start their Euro 2020 campaigns on the right foot.
We’ll see what happens on this day considering that the way Sunday’s action ended was quite the thrilling game just when you thought Chuks’ countrymen were going to cruise to a win. (Not so fast, my friend.)
