After a whirlwind season that saw their nine-year reign over Serie A come to an end while seeing their rookie manager struggle to keep the good times going, Juventus are ready to turn to a familiar face in hopes of getting the Old Lady back to her former glory.
Juventus has hired former manager Max Allegri for a second stint at the club, ending the Andrea Pirlo experiment all of one season in. Allegri will be Juve’s fourth manager in the last four years unless you want to count him once and this is just the restart after a two-year tap of the pause button.
Juve, who finished in fourth place in the Serie A table this season after a thrilling final weekend of the 2020-21 season, have made quite the splash to begin a summer that was expected to see plenty of changes even if Pirlo was to get the chance to manage this team for a second season.
But, it’s Allegri’s time once more. Mad Max is back.
