Due to the guy who edits this here podcast getting his second COVID-19 vaccine shot early Monday, we decided to not play the game with potential side effects and record our latest episode about an hour or so after the final whistle of Juventus’ game against Milan.
Well, that was a great idea.
There were plenty of reasons to be grumpy after this latest Juventus performance — and based on the 2020-21 season, that’s saying something. Juventus’ 3-0 loss to AC Milan not only put the Champions League at serious stake of not stopping at Allianz Stadium next season, but it made finishing in the top four that much tougher based on who is still on the schedule.
Yeah, grumpy.
Lots of grumpiness.
Lots of frustration.
Lots of resignation, too.
One hell of a way to celebrate our one-year anniversary for this little podcast project we started when Italy was still in lockdown and we didn’t know for sure when Serie A was going to come back into our lives. (Remember, Italy will forever be Italy and that usually means throwing any sort of logic out of the window when it comes to the decision-making process.)
On this week’s episode of The Old Lady Speaks Podcast, we discuss:
- The 3-0 loss to Milan.
- Just who’s to blame for all of this mess.
- How much is this Andrea Pirlo’s fault? How much of this is on the players? How much of this is on the front office?
- Doom, gloom and nothing in between.
- Positivity? Maybe next week.
