Juventus signing Weston McKennie was officially unveiled today as a member of the Bianconeri, and in his first comments after signing on, the player was impressed by what he had seen and heard.

“The idea of coming to play here, at a club with a great history, it excited me. The club immediately supported my commitment to Black Lives Matter.

“There was no need to convince me to come to Juventus, because being here is a dream that has become reality.”

The American international is also excited by the prospect of playing for a legendary player like Andrea Pirlo, who is making his coaching debut with Juve.

“My strong point is the recovery of possession. I talked to Pirlo and he appreciates this feature.

“We are on the same wavelength as to my position on the pitch.”

Juventus have focused on the North American subcontinent in recent years with tours and youth football camps, and McKennie is excited to represent his homeland as the first US-born to play for the Bianconeri.

“It’s a great honour to be the first American player in the history of Juventus. Having the opportunity to wear this shirt, representing my country and bringing young Americans closer to football makes me proud.”

The 22-year-old is really looking forward to playing with teammate and superstar Cristiano Ronaldo.

“Playing with Ronaldo, seeing how he moves and how he works will bring me great benefits.”
