While the Italian footballing world seems to be fixated on Luis Suarez’s antics on his language proficiency test, Juventus have gone ahead and replaced Gonzalo Higuain with a player that the team and fans are very familiar with.

Alvaro Morata rejoined the club that he spent two seasons with earlier this decade in a loan move from Atletico Madrid. Speaking to Juventus TV in his first comments since his return, the striker spoke about how happy he was to be in Turin again.

“This is a great feeling for me to return here. I have always felt attached to being here and I’m happy.

“I can’t wait to be with my teammates. The first era was great, but I’m now convinced I’m a better player, and that I have grown up in many aspects of my life.

“I’m sure this will be another great journey.”

The 27-year-old won two domestic double during his time with the Bianconeri announced that he was ready to jump right into new manager Andrea Pirlo’s squad.

“I will always be ready for Juventus.

“This is a great club and a family. When you are in a place that feels like home, there’s always a desire to return.”
