It will have been 5 1⁄2 months between the first and second leg of the Champions League Round of 16 tie between Juventus and Lyon when the two teams face each other at Allianz Stadium on Friday night. As you can probably imagine, a lot of things have happened between then and now — and that’s not even when you factor in how we all got here.
Because of that, it’s understandable as to why some things might need a little updating.
Those updates came as Juve — who need to overturn a 1-0 deficit from the first leg that was played all the way back in February — start the week and ramp up to Lyon’s visit to France.

The only noticeable change is this one:
- Sami Khedira out
- Merih Demiral in
Here is Juventus’ Champions League squad list in full:
1 Szczesny
2 De Sciglio
3 Chiellini
4 de Ligt
5 Pjanic
7 Ronaldo
8 Ramsey
10 Dybala
11 Douglas Costa
12 Alex Sandro
13 Danilo
14 Matuidi
16 Cuadrado
19 Bonucci
21 Higuain
24 Rugani
25 Rabiot
28 Demiral
30 Bentancur
31 Pinsoglio
33 Bernardeschi
77 Buffon
All the names you were expecting to be there are there. There’s no stunning Stephan Lichtsteiner-like omission that suddenly caught us off guard or anything like that. There’s no controversial choices, nothing really close to that.
Even though we know it will be a close call when it comes to the health statuses of Paulo Dybala and Douglas Costa for Friday night’s second leg, that’s pretty much the health concerns this team currently has. Giorgio Chiellini might be healthy, he might not, but that’s the way it’s been for weeks, so it’s not like we’re expecting Sarri’s decision making to hinge on the status of Juve’s captain.
Now we just hope that there’s no injury news between now and kickoff Friday night. Or maybe we can have some injury news, but only the good kind where we hear about Dybala returning to training with the group. Hopefully.
