For much of Sunday’s lunchtime kickoff against Lazio, things were going pretty OK. Juventus were in the lead, they were defending well and Lazio, albeit a shorthanded side due to COVID-19 positives and injuries, wasn’t doing a whole hell of a lot even though they had the majority of the possession.
Then the final seconds of stoppage time happened.
And all the good moods that we had turned sour — in a hurry.
So, as we tried to shrug off any lingering grumpiness 24 hours after the fact, we spent part of Alessandro Del Piero’s birthday talking about what happened to Juventus in their final game before the November international break arrived. It was ... maybe not as over-the-top mad as you might have expected, but we did try and dive deep into what went wrong — and what Juve did well! — against Lazio on Sunday afternoon in Rome.
On this week’s episode of The Old Lady Speaks, we discuss:
- It was more like Lazi-OHNO, right?!
- Now that we’re a decent number of games in both in Serie A and the Champions League, how are we feeling about where the team is at as compared to any expectations we had at the beginning of the season?
- DE LIGT BACK?!
- ALEX SANDRO BACK?!
- The Champions League group stage is halfway done. Imagine that after just a couple of weeks, huh?! We discuss where things stand in the group as Juventus and Barcelona have quickly established themselves as the two best teams in Group G.
- And, as always, your Twitter questions to wrap things up.
