Ever since they stepped on the field for the first time a little over 18 months ago, Juventus’ women’s team has been the best that Serie A Femminile has to offer. Ever since they became into existence, they have helped lead the charge when it comes to improving the women’s game and the attention that it has gotten in Italy as the past couple of years have gone by.

Later this month, Juventus Women will make a little more history.

As they charge toward their second league title in as many years of existence, Juventus Women will host Fiorentina Women’s FC at Allianz Stadium on Sunday, March 24, the first women’s game to ever be played at Juventus’ crown jewel of a stadium. Barring any kind of dropped points by either team over the next 2 12 weeks, the Juventus-Fiorentina clash on the women’s side will be one between the first- and second-place teams in the league. (The Juve men, by the way, will be in the middle of the first international break of the calendar year, in case you’re wondering what they might be up to that weekend.)

The game will be free admission for those who want to attend.

Juventus Women have lost just one of their 17 league fixtures this season — a 3-0 defeat at the hands of AC Milan’s women’s team. Juventus Women also lost to Fiorentina in the Italian Super Cup back on Oct. 13. Juventus Women beat Fioretina 2-0 in the first league fixture between the two clubs thanks to goals by Cristiana Girelli and Barbara Bonansea.

Now they get to take their big-time showdown to the big arena.

Juventus Women — who are also trying to win the domestic double this season — usually play their home games at Vinovo, a place previously occupied by Juve’s primavera and other youth sides.

Let’s go ahead and see what one of the Juventus players — those who weren’t away on international duty on the same day the announcement was made — who has played a key role in their season to date thinks of making some history at Allianz Stadium later this month.

Yeah, this should be fun. (Even better with a win, too.)
