Report: Juventus to enter the disco for Isco this summer

A rather quiet January seems to be making way for a probably roller coaster ride of a summer mercato.

The January transfer window will likely be a quiet one for Juventus. That’s nothing new. That’s how it’s been for a lot of Januarys over the past decade or so since the Andrea Agnelli-led regime took control of Juve’s front office.

Juventus’ most-talked about move, one that is reportedly just about done for Aaron Ramsey, won’t be one for this season. And, according to Sky Sport Italia’s Gianluca Di Marzio, Juve is already lining up another summer swoop even though the second week in January isn’t even over with yet.

Di Marzio reports that Juventus’ new Chief Football Officer, Fabio Paratici, has set his sights on acquiring a big name from Real Madrid for the second summer in a row. This time it would be a move for Juve’s midfield, with Spanish playmaker Isco being the target that is reportedly being lined up as a summer transfer target.

More from Di Marzio’s website:

After the addition of Aaron Ramsey from Arsenal, Juventus are also involved in contacts with Isco’s entourage. The Italian club’s director Fabio Paratici held discussions centering around the club’s interest in bringing Isco to the bianconeri. Juventus have had designs for nearly 5 years about bringing Isco to the club, and if the conditions are right, the player could finally be making a move to Italy.

Yes, Juventus being linked with a move for Isco is nothing new to those of you who have even paid even a little bit to the transfer rumor cycle over the last couple of years. As is easy to understand, nothing has truly come of it, with pretty much every transfer window bringing a new cycle of Isco-to-Juventus rumors coming about.

But contacts with Isco’s entourage? Not sure how often we’ve heard about that.

That could be the new development in all of this that makes this round of Isco-to-Juventus rumors separate itself from the rest of the pack. Seeing Isco linked to Juve isn’t something that we haven’t seen before. But, if Paratici is actually discussing things with Isco’s representatives, then there could be plenty more talk of the 26-year-old Spaniard coming to Turin come the summertime.
