Game Time Thead: Juventus vs. Napoli

BIG GAME!

I don’t need to remind you of how Napoli’s visit to Turin went last season. I don’t think any of us who wear black and white jerseys on a regular basis want to be reminded of it, honestly. It was that kind of result in that kind of late-season matchup that re-ignited a Scudetto race that ended up finishing with the same team that has won the previous six atop the table.

No, a late-September meeting between Juventus and Napoli won’t have the same kind of scenarios running through our heads like the last time these two teams met.

That doesn’t mean this game isn’t important, though.

This is a big game.

It will always be a big game.

Even immediately after they got promoted together from Serie B it was a big game.

Juventus hosting Napoli, just as it was last season, is a top-of-the-table clash. Unlike Juventus’ last top-of-the-table clash when Juve saw Sassuolo roll into Turin, this has the big game feel that two of Italy’s clubs meeting on the same field should have. It’s September, but it’s Juve’s first big domestic game of the season, one that has Max Allegri thinking back to the last time the two clubs played one another.

With all of that being said, Juventus having a six-point lead over the club many people still think will be their closest competition for the Scudetto even before the month of October arrives would be quite nice.

It appears that Fede is ready to go for this one. So, are you ready?

We’re soon going to find out.
