We don’t really write about Tuttosport transfer rumors around these parts. I think the reason is pretty obvious, and it’s not like they’ve suddenly improved on the product they’re putting out to merit a whole lot of attention being thrown in their direction.
But, mostly for comedic purposes, I want to write about this one. Here goes nothin’...
Jorge Mendes is trying to get Cristiano Ronaldo to move to Juventus, according to reports from Tuttosport on both Sunday AND Monday. As if it’s any surprise to anybody who has any kind of comprehension of Juve’s transfer strategy and budget under Beppe Marotta’s watch, Tuttosport points out that signing Ronaldo would be rather difficult.
To that, I just have one thing to say...

This is a thing. It’s a thing because Tuttosport is trying like hell to make it a thing. It will result in absolutely nothing in terms of Ronaldo and Juventus actually being on the same field together outside of the Champions League. (Or, for the record, in the International Champions Cup later on this summer.)
From a publication that specializes in both crazy transfer rumors and then repeating pretty much the same rumor over and over and over again — seriously, look at how many times they’ve had a Sergej Milinkovic-Savic-related iteam as one of their lede stories the past month or so — this way well be the topper.
Throwing a Hail Mary out there for one day, OK, I can see that. But now Tuttosport is doubling down on this Ronaldo-to-Juventus thing. And, because of the world we live in today, there are probably people in Italy, around Europe and sitting somewhere cruising Twitter who actually believe it.
No, Cristiano Ronaldo is not signing with Juventus this summer. I mean, seriously, can you imagine what kind of salary the dude would demand and how it would throw the current wage bill — which is already pretty damn high, I might add — completely out of sorts.
But keep doing you, Tuttosport. You’ve got your ridiculous transfer rumor niche, and you’re obviously taking it to another level with this one.
