There is a common thread when it comes to Roma’s last seven trips to Turin to play Juventus.
Loss.
Loss. Loss. Loss.
Loss. Loss. Loss.
I hope those hints helped.
Roma enters tonight’s trip to Allianz Stadium 0-for-their-last-7 when it comes to trying to beat the gold standard of Italian football, otherwise known as Juventus. That’s the kind of figure that a good number of teams currently competing in Serie A can say based on the fact that Juventus have won the last seven league titles and are a pretty convincing bet to win an eighth by the time spring rolls around.
So, come a couple of hours from now, here’s to hoping that it is indeed an eighth straight win at home over Roma — something the crowd at Allianz Stadium will probably never get tired of seeing based on who the opponent is.
And it’s not like Roma’s domestic form is all that inspiring at the moment. They’ve struggled mightily for consistency over the last couple of months, and their current standing in the Serie A table only reminds us of that.
Here’s to hoping that Juventus can only extend said poor run of form for Eusebio Di Francesco’s side. I may be a fan of the fancy frames that he wears — although not as much as when he was the up-and-coming manager lea1ding Sassuolo, which is disappointing — but the same can’t really be said about the club he manages.
So, yeah, make it eight straight wins at home over Roma, guys.
