On Wednesday, the Champions League returns to Allianz Stadium in Turin. The stadium will likely be an absolute zoo when you consider who is coming to town and how well the European campaign has started for Juventus this season.
But we’re not here to talk about the Champions League or Manchester United just yet.
Juventus has a game before that game. And it just so happens to be today.
Cagliari has made its way to Turin to face the unbeaten defending champions this evening. The same stadium where Juventus didn’t come away with all three points against Genoa the last time they played played on their home turf. We can say that if the Juventus from the second half of the Genoa game shows its face once again against Cagliari then it could very well be another case of dropped points.
I will choose to think happy thoughts, though.
As much as Wednesday and the chance to book a place in the Champions League knockout rounds is a possibility, today it’s about Cagliari and trying to play well in the game before the big game. No looking ahead just yet, guys. There’s still 90 minutes to play before you can start to actually get ahead of yourself and think about Wednesday. Keep your current-day eyes on tonight rather than Wednesday.
Basically, once midnight in Italy arrives, you can think about Manchester United and putting another nail in Jose Mourinho’s coffin. Today, however, only Cagliari.
