As is now customary this time of year, the vast majority of rumors surrounding Juventus transfers have to do with some of Serie A’s best young talent. At the tender age of 16, Genoa striker Pietro Pellegri most certainly qualifies to be included in a group of young Italian talents.

And, as is being reported in the Italian press over the last 24 or 48 hours, Juventus are trying their damndest to make sure that Pellegri’s next club be one that wears bianconero.

According to Sky Sport Italia’s Gianluca Di Marzio, Juventus are ready to shell out a rather large chunk of money to secure the services of Genoa’s 16-year-old striker that has the eye of pretty much everybody else in Italy. That readiness also reportedly includes an offer that Juve have put on the table to try and get Genoa to budge.

More from Di Marzio:

Juventus are keen on promising striker Pietro Pellegri. The Bianconeri have in fact met with Genoa to discuss a potential €20 million move (bonuses included) of the youngster, born in 2001. Clubs are yet to reach a final agreement, while also French side Monaco have showed interest in the striker and could make an offer soon. Juventus are still ahead but now they have a new competitor in the race for Pellegri.

Another Italian outlet, calciomercato.com, reported earlier in the day that Pellegri’s agent has made it clear to Juve’s tag team transfer duo of Beppe Marotta and Fabio Paratici that the 16-year-old striker wants to make the jump up from Genoa to Juventus.

As much as the price tag seems to be a matter that seems to be decided, the same goes for what will happen to where Pellegri plays in the immediate future if he does sign with Juve. He could stay with Genoa until the rest of the season. He could stay on loan with Genoa for the 2018-19 season on top of an initial six-month loan to complete the current campaign.

But it’s becoming apparent that Juve are very much apparent with one of the youngest players to ever play in Serie A — which makes sense since the six-time defending Italian champions have been trying to assemble young talent from across the country over the last few January transfer windows.
