We’ve seen Emre Can linked to Juventus before. Some say it come be a move for now, others say it could be a move for 12 months from now. Beppe Marotta hasn’t necessarily denied that Juventus are interested in the German midfielder, either, which has obviously added a couple of red-hot coals to the late-transfer window fire.
Or maybe it’s just a couple of small flames.
Either way, Juventus really do seem to be interested in the 24-year-old Can who is out of contract come the end of the 2017-18 season. And they could see that as a way to try and get their player of interest.
According to La Stampa, Juventus are set to table a deadline day offer of €25 million for Can. Liverpool have given no indication that they will be selling Can at any point this transfer window, but they also haven’t much made of any progress when it comes to signing the German international to some kind of contract extension over the last couple of months.
It doesn’t matter if it’s been with a transfer this summer or arriving on a free 10 months from now when the next summer transfer window opens, Can has been heavily linked with Juventus over recent weeks. And with the injury problems that Juve currently have in the center of the park — Claudio Marchisio is out for a month, Sami Khedira was just injured during training on international duty — anything involving some kind of deadline day move for Marotta and Co. is centered around adding some kind of midfield depth.
However, there’s one thing...
As our friends over at The Liverpool Offside said, “Liverpool will not be selling, but Juventus are welcome to try their luck.” Let’s just go with that for now.
