Juventus vs. Genoa (4-2): Rate the players

Much like the way the game went, there will be many ups and downs.

Continuing with the day’s themes of ‘Ups and Downs’ during the Juve vs. Genoa game, I’m here to bring you more ups and downs in the form of Player Ratings for the day’s game.

Juventus had a dreadful start that saw them go down 2-0 in the first 10 minutes. The first was a Miralem Pjanic own goal, then a VAR-reviewed PK which saw Genoa bury from the spot. Only seven minutes later though, Juventus clawed back and Paulo Dybala buried a right-footed shot (yes, a right-footed shot) past Mattia Perin (who was just fantastic on the day, despite conceding four goals). Another VAR-reviewed PK brought Dybala to the spot just before halftime, and Juventus was tied.

Juan Cuadrado capped off a poor-performance with a wondergoal, which will surely leave voters confused as to how they should rate him. Matuidi took off Khedira at the 58th minute, Barzagli took off Lichtsteiner at the 74th minute, and Bentancur made his debut replacing Pjanic at the 81st minute. Dybala finished his hat-trick in injury time, cementing his sure-to-be MOTM.

Now that the match is over, it’s time to rate the players.

The rules of this are simple - upvote those who you thought had a good game, don't vote on those who you thought were neutral, and downvote those who you thought had a poor game. There will be a follow-up article for the results in the coming days.

Please remember that you're not required to vote for every player. Neutral players shouldn't get a vote. Enjoy, and feel free to share your picks and justifications in the comments.
