Report: Juventus bids for Matuidi and Keita too low; Spinazzola move depends on replacement

You may not like the numbers surrounding Matuidi.

International Champions Cup 2017 - AS Roma v Paris Saint-Germain

Gianluca Di Marzio is reporting what pretty much everyone already assumed about Juventus’ final summer transfer targets, except now he has some new numbers to go along with it for both Blaise Matuidi and Keita Balde. Additionally, the latest update on Spinazzola is in, and it’s more of the same.

Starting with Matuidi, GDM is saying that PSG is demanding €25 million for the French midfielder. Juventus is thought to be offering lower than that (thankfully) and are hopeful they can get a deal done by Friday. I wouldn’t get your hopes up on the deal being much lower than their asking price, this is PSG we’re dealing with. The contract offered is believed to be 3 years for €3.5-4 million.

I don’t like these numbers, to say the least, and I’m not sure many Juventino will. At the end of the day though, we have to remember that unless this move is preventing one of the other two moves, Blaise Matuidi is a better option off the bench than Stefano Sturaro, and the squad would be improved no matter what it cost to bring him in.

On to Keita Balde, who’s agent has voiced his displeasure this morning. He is reportedly viewed as an opportunistic signing, but not a necessity. Lotito is reportedly demanding €30 million, while Juventus is offering €15 million plus €5 million in bonuses. Lotito is (understandably) adamant that he gets full value for his player, although if the player wants Juve and only Juve, he may not have that choice.

For Spinazzola, Atalanta will reportedly let him return to Juve and end his loan a year early, depending on whether they land a replacement or not. They are thought to be in for Diego Laxalt from Genoa, and are reportedly only €2 million apart from Genoa’s €12 million demand, which is good news on that front.
