The thought of Juventus selling one of their star players each summer is something that we can’t seem to avoid. Until they keep the complete band together from one season to the next, that kind of thought won’t go away.

To that point, there have been plenty of rumors about Alex Sandro leaving Turin this summer. It hasn’t happened yet, of course, but that hasn’t stopped the incessant rumor mill from saying that the talented Brazilian is “on the verge” of trading in the famed black and white stripes of Juventus for something a little more blue.

Well, we have heard from Juve manager Max Allegri about the matter. And in a not-so-shocking-at-all kind of statement, Allegri has shot down the proposition of Sandro heading out this summer. Here are he words of Mister Max:

“Alex Sandro? He’s a Juventus player, he’s extraordinary and he won’t leave us. He’s improved so much since he came to Juve and he has the margins to improve again. Along with Marcelo, he’s one the best in the world.”

Mad Max has spoken.

Take that, Chelsea.

I like that Alex Sandro is a Juventus player. And I like that Juventus has an extraordinary player like Alex Sandro playing at left back for the foreseeable future.

This isn’t the end of the Alex Sandro rumors because, just as we found out last summer with Leonardo Bonucci, it doesn’t matter what is said because good players will always be linked with a move somewhere else by somebody. Or, better yet, good players in Europe will always be linked with a move to England because that’s how the English press operates.
