International Champions Cup Game Time Thread: Juventus vs. Paris Saint-Germain

Juventus have made the trip down from rainy Boston to sunny and humid Miami. It’s probably got Paulo Dybala, Gonzalo Higuain and the rest of the Juve South American contingent thinking of home with all of the lovely people and hot weather.

But they’re not at home.

They’re not visiting the beaches of Miami on personal holiday.

They’re in Miami for their second preseason game and then probably back on a plane to head back to Boston. Their opponent tonight is Paris Saint-Germain, who has some midfielder by the name of Marco Verratti that we know a little bit about. Juve’s second game in the International Champions Cup may not have the prestige behind it that the first one did because of recent Champions League happenings, but it’s still a pretty good matchup.

And then there’s the whole Dani Alves thing.

But I digress.

Juventus didn’t look all that great against Barcelona. Maybe that’s because the big boys of the attack didn’t come on until the beginning of the second half. Maybe that’s also because Neymar felt like dancing all over Juve’s backline in the opening 45 minutes.

Either way, it sure would be nice for Juventus to look a little bit better than they did a few days ago in New Jersey. Or we can just chalk it up to preseason being preseason. It’s not like Juve have been a dominating force over the last few years in the build-up to the games that actually count.

That’s the “good thing” about preseason. It’s preseason.

Just as I did on Twitter a few hours back, I’ll leave this question for the comment section: How long will it take Mario Mandzukic to go in on a tackle against Dani Alves? I’m going to put the over/under at about 20 seconds. What say you?
