Juventus returns to Champions League action on Tuesday to take on Porto in the second leg of their Round of 16 matchup. Juventus, of course, has a 2-0 lead after completing the away leg thanks to away goals from Marko Pjaca and Dani Alves. All things considered, Juventus is clearly in the driver’s seat, but it is not over yet. A couple of bad bounces or lapses in judgement could turn this tie around completely.
Porto are coming off three straight league wins since we last met, with a combined score of 12-0. Even though the competition may be weaker, they clearly do know how to put the ball in the back of the net, so Juventus must be weary of this. Former Inter player, Alex Telles, will be unavailable for Porto due to his two yellow cards in the first leg.
For Juventus, the injury list is thankfully small and should compose solely of Giorgio Chiellini, assuming Mario Mandzukic is feeling better. I have added him to the poll, but consider that he may not be at 100 percent. Juventus’ next game comes on Sunday against Sampdoria.
It should be interesting to see whether people take a more defensive approach given the 2-0 and selecting the 3-5-2 formation, or go with what’s worked as of late and use the 4-2-3-1.
All things considered, who would you like to see start on Tuesday? Remember, this is who you think should start, not who you think Allegri will pick.
This round’s survey question comes courtesy of ogz (if anyone else has suggestions, please let me know), and is: Who is the superior team between Napoli and Manchester City?
