Juventus vs. Milan: BWRAO starting lineup vote results

A single vote split two of the players, find out who!

Once again, the 4-2-3-1 formation leads the way with just under half of the total votes. This is a downward trend from past votes, but it still comes out on top.

Five readers selected Neto to start, the rest went with Gianluigi Buffon to defend the Juventus goal against our rivals.

For the backline, Leonardo Bonucci and Daniele Rugani were selected to play in the middle, with Alex Sandro on the left. Dani Alves beat out Stephan Lichtsteiner by a mere 3 votes to fill out the right back spot. That wasn’t even the closest battle.

For the pivot roles, Miralem Pjanic and Claudio Marchisio take the two spots by a solid margin. Sami Khedira lost out on his spot by a single vote that kept him beneath Marko Pjaca. I’m pretty glad that it didn’t end up in a tie, because I’m not really sure how I would report it in that case.

In front of them, Mario Mandzukic, Paulo Dybala and Pjaca form the attacking midfield/winger trio.

Surely Pjaca MUST play now? Plus, give Mandzukic and Khedira a rest for the Porto game. I think Rincón would enjoy the challenge of the occasion.

And, of course, Gonzalo Higuain starts at striker.

The 4-3-3 got some shouts:

4-3-3 with Pjanic playing just ahead of Rincon and Marchisio. So almost a 4-2-3-1. Khedira rested. Pjaca was tempting, but feel Allegri won't start him against Milan. Plus need an attacking option off the bench. Too soon for Kean.

4-3-3 with Dybala and Pjaca flanking Higgy. Strongest midfield and defense behind them.

This is the lineup I would go with as well, except I would have Khedira in for Pjaca, and move Pjanic up and Dybala over to the right. I would rarely vouch for rotation against Milan, no matter the state of their team. There is enough of a rest for Porto on Tuesday, and a game against a rival should be treated like a must win.

Anthony’s Starting XI (4-2-3-1): Gianluigi Buffon; Alex Sandro, Daniele Rugani, Leonardo Bonucci, Dani Alves; Claudio Marchisio, Sami Khedira; Mario Mandzukic, Miralem Pjanic, Paulo Dybala; Gonzalo Higuain.
