Game Time Thread: Juventus vs. AC Milan

How does a plus-11 win over the closest competition sound to you all? Pretty good, right? That’s the situation Juventus can see themselves in for a day or two at minimum as the rest of the action in Serie A plays itself out on Saturday and Sunday if they are victorious over Milan in Turin this evening.

The first part is what will put everything in motion, though.

And that first part is about to at least open its doors to the possibility.

Juventus and Milan renew their rivalry in just a short amount of time. Juventus Stadium is sold out and will have the big-game buzz that always seem to accompany the club whenever a rival comes to town. It will be loud. It will be loud for most of the match. And then when Juventus scores a goal or two, the volume within the stadium will be even that much higher and wonderful.

That’s the plan at least.

Everybody is saying that Juventus already has the Scudetto wrapped up and it’s done. That may be true. But you know what sounds better? Beating a rival, pushing the lead atop the Serie A table to 11 points and then sitting back and watching how the rest of the weekend develops across all of Italy. Hey, maybe we’ll get the chance to have a laugh at Roma, Napoli or maybe even Inter. You know, Inter gonna Inter — even with their recent uptick in form under their new manager.

But today is about Juventus and Milan.

It’s nearly game time at Juventus Stadium. And what a nice little fixture we have going down right in front of us. (Or our computer screens. Or our television screens. Or maybe even our phone. You know what I mean. I hope.)

It’s time for a little Friday night football in Turin. And if the final score wants to be the same as the last time there was some Friday night football in Turin a couple of weeks ago, I think I would be pretty okay wth it.
