Juventus vs. Crotone: BWRAO starting lineup vote results

Round and around the rotation goes.

Rotation was the theme just about everywhere but the formation. The 4-2-3-1 formation wins out yet again, continuing it’s recent dominance in the polls.

Between the goalposts, Neto gets the nod as Gianluigi Buffon was touted to get some rest. In front of him in defense, the improving Kwadwo Asamoah was selected to once again prove his worth at left back alongside Daniele Rugani, Andrea Barzagli, and the finally fit Dani Alves.

In the midfield, Tomas Rincon and rotation-piece (sarcasm font) Claudio Marchisio — who will miss Wednesday’s game due to back stiffness — were pipped to man the pivot roles. In front of them Marko Pjaca, Miralem Pjanic, and Paulo Dybala take the advanced midfield/winger roles.

At the very top of the 4-2-3-1, Gonzalo Higuain will look to start a new scoring streak after losing out on his old one against Inter.

The team selected by voters only has three returning starters from the match against Inter over the weekend. I like it.

My lineup would be fairly similar. Time to reward Asamoah for his decision to stay in Italy rather than represent Ghana at AFCON. I would start Dani Alves, but with a hard minute limit before one of Licht or Juan Cuadrado goes to his spot. No sense in rushing him back from injury, especially considering there were some pessimistic timelines that would suggest that this is a very early recovery for him. I would say it’s time for Pjanic to get a break, so I’ll move Dybala central and put Cuadrado on the wing. I’d also start Mario Mandzukic over Higuain, and hopefully not need to bring him in because we’ll lock the game down early.

Again, if you have any survey question ideas, please let me know.
