As we’ve come to learn over the years, it seemingly is a formality that Juventus are going to be off traveling somewhere at some point of their preseason preparations. This season it was Australia and China. The season before that it was throughout Europe. The summer before that it was through the Middle East and Asia.
So, you get the point. Juventus are going to go somewhere.
According to a Sport report on Friday, we may have an idea of where Juventus’ next summer of fun may be taking place. Sport states that one of Juvenuts’ friendlies during the upcoming summer months will take place on July 22 in the United States against Spanish giants Barcelona. A location of said game was not included in the report, but one would think that with where Barca has played its friendlies in America over the last few years, it’s going to be at somewhere that can sit a lot of people.
One can probably put two and two together and think that if Juventus are going to be playing a friendly in the United States this summer, then it’s probably not going to be a one-off kind of situation. That means a tour throughout the United States, possibly coming in one of the summer tournaments that have popped up and started to become more and more popular over the last half-decade or so.
Juventus and Barcelona, of course, last faced each other in the 2015 Champions League final, one the Spanish giants won 3-1 in Berlin. That game will have had just a weeeee bit more on the line than this one will. But it’s continuing a trend of having big-time clubs playing against one another in the United States during the late-summer months.
So, if you are in the United States and want to see your beloved Juventus play, I guess you need to pay attention to where they may be playing and plan accordingly. At the very least, you’ll have one chance to see Juve and their latest adidas jerseys play.
