Injuries are normal. Injuries happen. But injuries during the international break? Well, those are just plain annoying and totally out of Juventus’ control aa they turn their players over to their respective countries for a little over a week ever month during each season.
It’s time to add two more to the list. And the impact will be felt when Juve start back up again this weekend.
By now, we know that both Mario Mandzukic and Andrea Barzagli suffered injuries on international duty late last week. However, according to La Gazzetta dello Sport, the injuries that both Mandzukic and Barzagli suffered will have them serious doubt for Juventus’ return to the field against Lazio this weekend.
They are the latest two players to be added to an injury list that could veey well see Juventus miss as many as eight players against Lazio.
So, now, let us have an injury roll call...
- Claudio Marchisio
- Sami Khedira
- Miralem Pjanic
- Marko Pjaca
- Mattia De Sciglio
- Benedikt Howedes
- Mario Mandzukic
- Andrea Barzagli
Yeah, that is not good. That is not good at all.
We have yet to hear the severity of the injuries that both Barzagli and Mandzukic suffered. And we don’t know how much longer somebody like Pjanic, Khedira or Marchisio will be out for seeing as their respective injuries happened before the international break.
But the injury list is as long as it has been in a good amount of time. And same goes for the amount of important players, starting lineup kind of players, who are currently out injured.
So if you thought we might be done writing about injuries on here for a while, think again, folks.
