Through two games of the 2016-17 season, we’ve seen Juventus start out on just about the opposite kind of trajectory as a year ago. Two losses in two games last season, two wins in two games this time around.
I like the second one better. So should you considering that Juventus now come out of the first international break of the season in third place rather than as a team sitting in the depths of the relegation zone.
This season has been different. Sure, it’s two games old and the truly busy part of the schedule is right around the corner, but this is different. This is the time where Juve’s reconstruction, mainly the addition of the likes of Gonzalo Higuain and Miralem Pjanic, gets truly involved in the action after playing off-the-bench roles to start the season.
This first test, one against the ever-exciting upstart known as Sassuolo, comes just days before Champions League group stage play against Sevilla begins at Juventus Stadium. Big game into another big game. The schedule can be a pain this time of year, but also rather exciting at the same time. That is if Juve cooperate and continue to pick up positive results. That would be nice, surely.
