At long last, we seem to be reaching a final endpoint when it comes to Simone Zaza’s status at Juventus. It might not be to the liking to some, but at the same time, wrapping up a player’s transfer we thought would be done weeks ago is
Check this one off the list and move forward, folks.
According to reports out of Italy, Zaza is expected to finalize his move to West Ham United, with the 25-year-old Italian striker expected to undergo his medical exams and sign his long-term contract with the Hammers on Friday. The deal is expected to see Zaza nearly double his salary compared to what he is making right now, with a much greater chance at playing time as to follow.
Simone Zaza is ready to become the newest member of West Ham. The transfer is practically completed between Juventus and the London club, and the player will be in England tomorrow to sign a contract with his new club. His salary will be 3.5 million per season for a multi-year deal. Juventus will get 28 million euros including bonuses, for a loan with an obligation to redeem the player.

Since transfer rumors surrounding Zaza’s status in Turin began, West Ham was one of the most frequent teams linked as a potential destination. Obviously, nothing never materialized 12 months ago and Zaza wound up being a backup striker behind Mario Mandzukic, Alvaro Morata and Paulo Dybala. And while some of the names Juve’s strikers are different this season, Zaza’s role basically projected to be the same type of thing.
However, once West Ham manager Slaven Bilic said this....
SB: "We were linked with him (Zaza) last year and he is a top player. We were in contact with him last year and will see what happens.— West Ham United (@WestHamUtd) August 24, 2016
...you had to figure that something was potentially in the works. And in relatively short order, too. And from there, it only seemed like the wheels quickly went in motion.
Of course, the little devil sitting on your shoulder will say something like, “Well, he was set to sign for Wolfsburg, so I ain’t even buying this!” That’s a fair point. But seeing as West Ham has had the desire to sign Zaza ever since he showed up in Vinovo for his first training session with Juventus, I would like to think they wouldn’t let this opportunity slip through the cracks.
