As we enter the final days of the summer transfer window, there seems to be two clear-cut Juventus transfer dealings still left to be settled. One, as we know, is the potential re-acquisition of winger Juan Cuadrado. The other might be a little more complicated mainly because the negotiations might not be as clear-cut as the other.

As Juventus reportedly work to bring Cuadrado back to Turin, they’re also trying to sign Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Blaise Matuidi. We already knew that first part. The second part, , according to reports out of Italy, involves the fact that Juve have made a bid to sign Matuidi in the coming days.

Here are the details, courtesy of Gianluca Di Marzio:

The offer is for €22m + €5m bonus. PSG, with a week remaining in the market should have motivation to agree to a deal if one were to reach €30m (fixed offer). Matuidi has already expressed his openness for a move to to Italy.

Now, Di Marzio’s reporting doesn’t go as far as what L’EQUIPE is running out here on Wednesday morning. That basically states that a deal between Juventus and PSG for Matuidi is getting closer and closer to being done. (And also, if you plug things into Google Translate, a deal also burns, which is hilarious.) That’s far from the rumblings that PSG were trying to get around €40 million for the 29-year-old Frenchman who started 23 Ligue 1 games last season.

Obviously €22 million (plus whatever the bonuses end up being) isn’t exactly close to the €40 million that was thrown out there a few days ago. So maybe that €40 million figure was a bunch of hogwash and that the reported figure above is more realistic. Or maybe Beppe Marotta is doing some classic Beppe Marotta things and low-balling an offer because he’s a shrewd businessman and likes a good deal as much as anybody.

Whatever the case, go ahead and negotiate to your heart’s content, Beppe. Just make sure the deal(s) you want to get done and done over the next seven days. Sounds like a plan.
