Consider this more of a celebration than an actual friendly. Yes, it’s a friendly. But it’s also a celebration of what Juventus is all about. This is a gathering of the Juventus family — young and somewhat older, players and management abound.
Juventus opens its season in just a matter of days when Fiorentina make the trip from Florence to Turin. But before then, Juventus’ senior squad will face the club’s primavera side in the annual Juventus A vs. Juventus B match at the Agnelli family estate in Villar Perosa.
It’s a family day for a family-run kind of club. It is the unofficial end of preseason training. And considering that the season begins in just a matter of days after the Juventus-on-Juventus friendly, it’s the transition from preseason to regular season. It’s a nice way to put a bow on top of the grind of preseason preparations and ramp things up for a few days going into the season-opening weekend.
But, most important, this day is about Juventus — past and present.

Like I said, this is about history and celebrating the season that is upon us.
Oh, and one more thing before we go ahead and watch some Juventus: I’ll just go ahead and steal a line from the last game thread we had...
Just as long as nobody gets hurt today, that is.
So, Juventus players, don’t get hurt. Make sure of that, Max.
Yep, that sounds about right to me.
