One more friendly to go, folks. Well, at least in terms of friendlies that are on the other end of the world and has Italians on the Peninsula trying to watch Juventus games while they enjoy a late breakfast or a hardy lunch.
The final leg of Juve’s preseason tour is upon us. It won’t see Max Allegri’s squad face a potential European opponent come the Champions League like last time out. No, this time Juventus will take the field at the Hong Kong Stadium against South China, who ply their trade in the Hong Kong Premier League.
Juventus have played at times during this trip. We’ve been able to see Miralem Pjanic make his unofficial Juve debut and give us a taste of what he has to offer. Same goes for Medhi Benatia, a former teammate of Pjanic’s at Roma.
Now the last test before a friendly or two on European soil awaits. And that’s good. Showing progress at this stage of the calendar is never not a bad thing. Seeing as who will be awaiting the traveling squad upon their return to Vinovo, too, things are about to get taken up a notch or two when it comes to preparations for the first Serie A weekend of the 2016-17 season.
So, Max, what do you think about the trip through Australia and Hong Kong as you enter the final leg of this week-plus halfway across the world?
.@OfficialAllegri: "We've worked very well in Australia and tomorrow's game is important for us. Then we'll get back to it in Turin."— JuventusFC (@juventusfcen) July 29, 2016
You know what the good thing about Juventus heading back to Turin after tonight’s game? Well, that means we’re even closer to the 2016-17 season starting.
