The good thing about this time of year? We don’t have to wait as long for Juventus’ next game as we did just a few days ago. Instead of months, we’ve only had to sit around and wait a for a coupe of days, not a couple of months like was previously the case before Juve took the field against Melbourne Victory last week.
Three-day wait compared to a three-month wait? I’ll take that any day of the week and twice on Sunday.
JUVENTUS BACK.
Was Juventus’ first friendly a resounding success? Nah, probably not. Was it an utter and complete failure? Nah, not that, either. (Although some may say it was a success simply because none of the senior squad members and projected contributors weren’t injured. To which, I won’t say no to, by the way.)
But with it means we must #TrustTheProcess — hopefully not the Philadelphia 76ers kind of way because, you know, Juve actually win — and let Max work and do what he does best this time of year.
We will see different things than we did against Melbourne Victory earlier in the week. For one, Miralem Pjanic and Medhi Benatia will actually get to play, which is cool considering they were seemingly strapped to the bench in Juve’s first friendly. We’ll get to see Max Allegri roll with a four-man backline, as he told us would likely be the case at his pre-match press conference.
All in all, it’s another Juventus friendly as Allegri and his squad continues to work its way toward the start of the Serie A season — one, by the way, that is just about a month away from its beginning. That’s exciting!
