In the ever-evolving world that is the summer transfer window, a new name has popped up as the Italian press' latest player to be linked with a move to Juventus this summer.

It is Gabigol of Santos. Or maybe you can call him Gabriel Barbosa if you want to be all technical and stuff.

Either way, according to Gianluca Di Marzio on Tuesday night, Juventus' task of trying to find a replacement for Alvaro Morata this summer has taken them all the way to one of South America's most successful clubs.

Juventus have already signed important players but they don't intend to stop as they are ready to make an 18 million euros (bonuses included) offer to Santos for Gabigol (born in 1996). Juve will present the offer to the Brazilian club tomorrow as they already have the players consent. Gabigol renewed his deal with Santos till 2021 but with the promise that he can leave for Europe if a big offer arrives. That offer is about to arrive ....

Solely looking at the kind of profile that Gabigol has, he fits what Juventus has done in recent summers. He's young, he's relatively affordable given the fact that he's already been called up to Brazil's senior squad despite the fact that he's still a teenager.

But it's not like Juventus has a history of signing a lot of Brazil. And that's especially true when it comes from signing Brazilian players who are currently playing in their home country. Bringing in somebody like Alex Sandro of Dani Alves, established names in the European game is one thing, but to go shopping in Brazil is something we've rarely seen from Beppe Marotta and Fabio Paratici since they took over as the 1-2 punch at Juventus.
