One last game. One last game for this European Championship. Maybe, for some, that's a good thing. Maybe, for others, they aren't ready for this tournament to be over. (Although I assume club coaches would like their respective players back in a reasonable amount of time after holidays and vacations are taken.)
France vs. Portugal represents the final day of Euro 2016. Like the tournament or not, this is the last hurrah.
And while the Juventus representation is a fraction of what it was when the tournament got underway a few weeks ago, it's not like the Serie A champions are going to be completely shut out when it comes to having players in the final.
To a surprise to no one who has followed this tournament, Paul Pogba and Patrice Evra will be there, looking to bring their home country's fans another reason to celebrate even more than they did with a win in the previous round. The party will be even bigger if France are able to beat Cristiano Ronaldo and Portugal in the final, thus claiming the country's first European title in nearly two decades.
Based on how Portugal has played so far, based on how France has played so far, the odds on Les Bleus coming with the tournament title may well be pretty good. For Pogba and Evra, it would certainly continue what they done on the club level over the last couple of seasons together.
Lots of titles, lots of trophy lifting, lots of celebrating. Good times.
So, go ahead and put your Pogba rumors down for a couple of hours. You can do it, everybody. It's not that difficult. And, hopefully, we get to enjoy the show, folks. It's the last bit of football we'll have to watch until we see Juventus hanging out with some kangaroos and playing a couple of friendlies down in Australia.
