Win or lose, today is the final day of claicio for the next three months. There will be the Euros, sure, but when it comes to Juventus football, it's now and then whatever happens at the start of next season in late-August.
This is basically a "Catch 'em while you still can!" situation, kids.
Yes, the Coppa Italia final is upon us. Or, well, almost upon us. It's 90 minutes away, probably less once you finally stumble upon this post. This is your last chance to see Juventus until summer friendlies arrive and Juve are playing against a couple of teams down under in Australia before the 2916-17 Serie A campaign gets underway. This is Juve's chance to make more history, capturing a second straight domestic double.
And as we know, winning trophies is quite good. And Juventus winning trophies is even better. So, when you have the chance to win a trophy, you must take advantage of said opportunity.
That's what today is all about. The chance to win a Supercoppa, a Scudetto and Coppa Italia in the same season — again— sounds pretty good to me. I'm sure you all agree.
You know what is also happening today, though? It's Mario Mandzukic's birthday, as our big lovable Croatian striker officially hits his 30s. Okay, so maybe he's not totally lovable. At least when he's wearing a jersey of the team you're not rooting for. These days? He's totally cool with us — especially since he wants to know where Sami Khedira is on holiday. That just means you need to stay on his good side whenever humanly possible. (Just a piece of advice.)
Nope, you don't want to make Mario angry. These kinds of things happen when Mario is angry. What will make Mario — and all of us — very happy today? Well, that would be a second straight domestic double, of course.
You know what you need to do, Juventus. Keep Mario happy. Keep all of us happy. Let's see Giorgio Chiellini raise that dang Coppa Italia trophy above his head once again after the final whistle sounds.
