Going on three games now, Juventus has lined up against a team sporting nerazzurro. While we may not think of Atalanta with the same kind of serious distain we have for Inter, those colors are still the same colors. Black and blue may be acceptable when it comes to bumps and bruises, but when it's an opposing calcio team, then it's a little different.
Regardless, with Napoli winning Saturday night, there's business to take care of this afternoon.
It's a different team in black and blue that will be opposing our beloved friends in bianconero, hopefully the same outcome as last weekend for Max Allegri and Juventus. The trip to Bergamo is Juventus' latest chance to remain in first play by their lonesome rather than having some company like is the case entering this game.
We talked about it in the match preview. Atalanta is struggling big time right now, and anything close to extending their runs means they're officially on relegation zone watch. It's been a long time since they've won a game. A long, long, long time without having a win. That's what has put them in this kind of situation.
And what does this mean for Juventus?
Well, it's simple. You need to beat the teams that you should beat if you want to win titles. If it's a grinding 1-0 win, that's fine. If it's a 4-0 blowout, that's cool, too. Either way, the No. 1 and only goal for Juve entering their third straight game against a team in black and blue is to win and reclaim that three-point lead atop the Serie A standings.
Napoli threw the opening punch of the weekend. Now it's time for Juventus to figure that out.
But you probably figured that out considering what the table looks like after Saturday's set of games.
Now, with Sunday's slate rolling through, there's no better time than now to continue this domestic unbeaten run. That means starting a new winning streak, fellas. You got one, time to make it two.
