Juventus Vice President and former star midfielder Pavel Nedved has insisted that the Bianconeri should not take Porto lightly after the two clubs were paired together in the round of sixteen draw for the Champions League earlier today.
Porto had elminated AS Roma 4-1 on aggregate during the qualifying round for this season’s tournament, and Nedved called for caution.
“Everyone’s saying we’re the favorites, but in the Champions League there aren’t any favorites.
“Going all the way will be really complicated, it’s a difficult and complicated competition, nothing’s easy and all the games are complicated.
“I’m never satisfied with the draw, you never know who awaits you. We’ll play this tie in two months, it’s difficult to speak after the draw.
“Porto? We mustn’t underestimate anyone, we have to be careful. I know what it’s like to play in the Champions League, we have to face these matches with maximum concentration.”
The first leg between Porto and Juventus will be played at the Estádio do Dragão in Portuga on Wednesday, Feb. 22. The second leg is set for Tuesday, March 14, at Juventus Stadium in Turin.
