Former Juventus midfielder Roberto Pereyra has spoken out against the club in a recent interview with La Gazzetta dello Sport.
“That was really disappointing of course. I didn’t expect that from Juventus and Allegri, I thought they’d have treated me in a different way. They dumped me for no reason. Many Juventus fans are still writing me saying that I would have been useful in midfield this season, that’s what I think as well.”
Pereyra went on to say that he felt betrayed by the Bianconeri and manager Massimiliano Allegri.
“The last season was very difficult for me, but the previous one had not been bad at all, I expected a different treatment by Juventus. I’m still in contact with some of my former teammates like Bonucci, he’s a star.”
He went on to say he had settled in well in the Premier League.
“However, I’m happy to be at Watford. Mazzarri trusts me and I am fit now. I’ve hired the same mental coach that used to work for Leonardo Bonucci, Alberto Ferrarini. My agent Sergio Furlan called him. I was sceptical at the beginning. I don’t know what he did, I can’t even describe his job properly actually, but whatever thing he does, he give me positive energy and everything becomes easier.”
The midfielder ended with another jibe at Juve.
“I want to do well with Watford and would be cool to return to Italy one day. Somebody may regret to let me leave.”
