Gonzalo Higuain will play his first game against his former club when Juventus hosts Napoli on Saturday in Turin at Juventus Stadium.
Higuain, 28, scored a record 36 Serie A goals for Napoli a season ago. The Argentina striker won’t have to hear the distain from Napoli fans, who have called him a traitor among other things since his record-setting €90 million transfer to Juve, as they’ve been banned for security reasons. Certainly the match later this season in Naples will be a rowdy affair.
Higuain has scored seven goals so far this season for Juve, who are four points clear of third-place Napoli. The Naples-based club hoped Arkadiusz Milik could fill the void left by Higuain, and he with six goals in his first four matches, but he torn his ACL on international duty. The injury to Milik has certainly diminished Napoli’s attack, and with Claudio Marchisio back for Juve things look tough for Napoli.
