And here, courtesy of Gianluca Di Marzio on Tuesday, is the latest and (probably not) greatest in the Simone Zaza Transfer Rumor Chronicles. Although it's not exactly delivered in the kind of way we'd be used to. Read for yourself.

Khouma Babacar is the latest target for Crystal Palace, as the club aggressively look to land a striker in the mid-season transfer market. Palace have readied a bid in the area of €11-12 million for the 22-year-old, who has 6 goals on the season for the Florentine club. The focus on Babacar comes after Juventus rejected Crystal Palace's €27 million bid for striker Simone Zaza.

Let me just go ahead and repeat that last sentence for you...

The focus on Babacar comes after Juventus rejected Crystal Palace's €27 million bid for striker Simone Zaza.

Okay, good! So that's settled then. Just another sign that Juventus ... Wait, wait, wait a second. Crystal Palace did what now? And Juventus also did what now?

Yes, Crystal Palace, one that has been linked to Zaza for weeks now, reportedly offered TWENTY SEVEN GOSH DANG MILLION EUROS for the 24-year-old striker and Juventus said, "Ehhh, thanks, but no thanks, guys." If there was ever a more clear sign that Juve have no intentions of selling Zaza no matter what his desire may be during the current transfer window, I'd like to see one.

Sky Italia reported later Tuesday that Zaza has decided to stay with Juventus, prompting just about everybody's B.S. O-Meter to basically say that these Zaza exit rumors are a bunch of hogwash during a time where all we needed was actual calcio in our lives again. Maybe they are over and done with, or maybe we'll be sitting here after the Juventus-Hellas Verona game wondering why another team just had an unsuccessful attempt to try and sign Zaza.

Ain't transfer windows fun? At least the games are back now...
