Juventus won 4-0 away at Chievo Verona to go top of the table provisionally as previous leaders Napoli play later. The Bianconeri were utterly dominant on the day as a brace from Alvaro Morata and additional goals from Alex Sandro and Paul Pogba did the trick.
With today's win, Massimiliano Allegri has now matched Antonio Conte's all-time club record of 12 consecutive Serie A victories.
After the match, here is what Allegri had to say about being Calcio leaders -
"I didn't think we'd be up here so quickly, no. There's still a long way to go, there are Napoli and others who will fight with us to the end.
"We must try to keep going and above all try to keep improving."
On matching Conte's record -
"I can just say the players go on the field and win the games. I can give them a hand with advice, but as I've already said, I am not interested in records.
"I'd be upset if we won 20 in a row and then didn't win the Scudetto. The trophies are what count and the results are just a way of getting there."
With Juve's current imperious form, Allegir was asked if he was disappointed that they wouldn't take on German leaders Bayern Munich in the Champions League for another three weeks?
"I am not disappointed, as the game is on February 23, so we'll make sure we are ready for then. Right now we have to focus on Serie A, as there are some tough games with Genoa and Frosinone before the head-to-head with Napoli.
"We have to take it one game at a time, as each win is one step closer to our target."
The manager talked about the game today as well, comparing it to the last time Juve played Chievo drawing 1-1 at home -
"We are in very good form, today the guys produced a great performance in terms of their technical level and the intensity we played with, we also kept the ball well.
"We were excellent today and I think Chievo played admirably as well. We need to keep winning like this as nothing but victories will see us win the Scudetto.
"Firstly, right now the team is doing very well, but I never had any doubts that we'd reach this level.
"There were a lot of setbacks, but we have stayed focused and found a balance to our play."
Midfielder Sami Khedira came in for some praise, as did Morata and Pogba.
"Morata was just lacking confidence, recently in training something has changed and his two goals in midweek helped a lot.
"Pogba has amazing quality as he showed today, but he has to be consistent. Perfection does not exist but even if he is close, he must be consistent.
"Khedira just needed to get back to full fitness. He is a great professional and one full of quality. Right now the whole team is good because everyone is fit and confident. "
On why Simone Zaza didn't play today -
"Today I did not want to risk Zaza, he will probably play on Wednesday."
Allegri ended the interview with yet another question about his Juventus contract situation -
"There is no problem with my contract, I'm just focused on making sure we win titles this season, it will be signed eventually."
