If there's anything we've figured out about this Juventus summer transfer campaign, it's that 1) Beppe Marotta is looking to get the average age of the squad a lot lower and 2) Serie A's best team isn't afraid to spend a good chunk of cash along the way.
Something that's also of note, but not achieved yet? Juventus is looking for a No. 10.
In an attempt to purchase every young player with loads of talent, Juventus have reportedly made an offer for 18-year-old Fluminense playmer Gerson, one of the many attacking midfielders the club has been linked to in the last couple of weeks. And it's not your ordinary Marotta Special of a loan-with-option-to-buy. Nah, Juve's supposedly making quite a push for the young Brazlian.
Is this a deal that will see the teenager come to Turin immediately? Or, could Juventus buy Gerson, then keep him in Brazil over the next season or two as he continues his development? That's what we don't know right now. But, if there's an offer of that magnitude really going down, then you would think Gerson is in Juve's plans at some point in the near future.
While rumors fly of Oscar coming from Chelsea, Erik Lamela being the latest big-money Spurs signing to leave or Marotta somehow prying Isco away from Real Madrid, the only attacking midfielder where Juventus has reportedly put a bid forward for is Gerson, who Barcelona is also very keen to sign (shocker).
