As this post goes live, only a few measly hours remain before the Olympiastadion starts to fill up with Barcelona fans, Juventus fans and fans of the world's most popular game in general. Not long remains. The nerves have been there for hours, the butterflies in all of our stomachs are alive and well.

This is the day of the Champions League final.

Soon, Juventus and Barcelona will step onto the field for warmups. Then they'll head back into the locker room, put on their clean kits, then walk through the tunnel and on the field once more. The Champions League final ... It's here — almost. Juventus in the Champions League final. Seriously, you ain't dreaming, so stop telling yourself that. This is real and it's spectacular.

Did we think all of this was possible when Max Allegri took over in mid-July? Nope.

Did we think all of this was possible when we thought Antonio Conte would still be Juve's manager as pre-season training camp was about to begin in mid-July? Nope, probably not, either.

This has truly been a dream season for Juventus, one that deserves every bit of the "historic" tag many Juventus players and Allegri himself has described it as over the last couple of weeks. A domestic double is a dream season for most, yet as Saturday night's final in Berlin gets underway, it's the worst Juventus' season can end up as.

Allegri and Juve are potentially 90 minutes away from a third trophy celebration within a month's time. Or they're 90 minutes away from heading home empty handed after seeing Messi and all of his goal-scoring friends do what they do best. It's a test you won't see very often, and one that Juventus will have to ace — and probably then some — to become the champions of Europe.

Oh, that has a nice ring to it, doesn't it?

Can Juventus slay a Spanish giant for the second straight round of the Champions League? Ah, that's why we watch...
