With Sebastian Giovinco expected to head to Toronto earlier than originally expected, it was pretty much known that Juventus would be on the market to bring in a striker to replace the little fella. Apparently Juventus have found their guy.

And he's a pretty familiar one, too.

Once it became a virtual formality that Giovinco — who wasn't in the match day squad for Juventus' scoreless draw against Udinese on Sunday — would be heading to Major League Soccer in the winter transfer window, Juventus were immediately linked to a host of strikers. For good or bad, the name that garnered the most attention was want-away Inter striker Dani Osvaldo. Yes, the same Dani Osvaldo who played for Juventus last season and has developed a trend of screaming at teammates and changing teams every time a transfer window opens.

Then, the Matri option suddenly popped up.

And now, after the Matri-Osvaldo debate was discussed thoroughly in the Italia press over the last 24 to 36 hours, Juventus has evidently made their choice.

Matri has had a very solid first half of the season with Genoa thus far. His seven goals in 16 games (12 starts) has him tied for 10th in Serie A with a handful of other players. He has also recorded five assists to go along with the seven goals. Just for comparisons sake, Matri recorded seven assists total in his two and a half years with Juventus.

While we don't know how exactly Matri will be used in his comeback to Juventus, we know at least one thing is coming back to Turin, right?

Matri QUACK

QUACK. QUACK. QUACK. QUACK. QUACK. It's (almost) officially back in black and white.
