Juventus already has a comfortable lead atop the Serie A table. Come a couple hours from now, they may as well have an absolutely dominant lead over their closest competition.
The chance to go nine points up on Roma is here. Like just-around-the-corner-waiting-for-the-chance. That kind of here. Juventus' trip to the Friuli, one that has been rather successful in recent memory, is more than just a game against a squad that wears the same black and white stripes on their jerseys. It's the opportunity to extend the lead atop the Serie A mountain even further.
To the point where some people don't start talking about "if Juventus will when the Scudetto," but "when Juventus will win their fourth straight Scudetto."
That's just how well roll, folks.
It's likely to be three-man defense vs. three-man defense with Max Allegri expected to switch to a 3-5-2 formation due to the absence of midfield stars Claudio Marchisio (yellow cards) and Arturo Vidal (knee injury). The change in formation has been something Allegri has gone to at times in recent weeks to close games out, but not from the opening whistle. Maybe, just maybe, it will help Juventus continue what they've been doing a lot of this season.
And that would be winning. Lots of winning.
Yet the big question will be there until the final whistle blows: Can Juventus extend their lead over Roma to an impressive nine points?
I sure as hell hope so.
Starting lineups for both teams will be posted RIGHT HERE when they become available. Ain't no party like a 3-5-2 party because a 3-5-2 party don't stop? Well, maybe. Who knows if busting out modified rap lyrics will be the trick when it comes to Juventus' anticipated formation change for today's game.
